Amazon Web Services OK’d for Federal Use

Amazon Web Services passed for US government use "Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been granted FedRAMP compliance for AWS GovCloud (U.S.) and all U.S. AWS Regions. Today, Amazon announced that the service has been granted Agency Authority to Operate (ATO) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) requirements at the moderate impact level. FedRAMP is a U.S. government-wide program which standardizes security assessment and authorization for cloud products and services, in order to make sure that sensitive data on governmental networks is not compromised and is as protected as possible. Dell Bails Out of Public Cloud Offerings

Dell, which is having financial issues, is bailing out of public Cloud Computing. Dell dumps its public cloud offerings "Dell has become one of the first high profile companies to dump its public cloud ambitions, announcing today that it will no longer invest in its OpenStack and VMware-based cloud services. Network World's Brandon Butler just last week suggested Dell might discontinue its OpenStack cloud and now Dell has essentially confirmed it. The company is being a bit cagey and hasn't answered my direct questions about whether it is killing off its OpenStack and VMware-based cloud services, but it sure sounds like it.
